Last night I was digging through a drawer in the closet and found some old pictures.

The first is from about 1989, the green TR4A is my daily driver , the TR3 is my brother’ s. We are camped across from Road America for the vintage races. Note the vehicles of choice for less adventurous campers are vans.

The next one is a few years later (wild guess it was Fall), maybe 91, the TR is now the weekend toy, and the 85 RX7, aka the “Silver Bullet” is the daily driver. Drove it for about 6 years and 60,000 miles, one starter motor and one steering link, very reliable.

I have always loved your stable. And your definition of a daily driver.

Thanks, I feel like I have gone old and soft now, the prior daily, a 99 Maxima with a five speed, was replaced by an IS300 with an automatic. A first generation Sentra SE-R sandwiched between the RX and the Maxima, it was great fun too. 90s Nissan is the best Nissan.

The 67 Sprite was the weekend car for a while when I drove the Sentra. By this time vehicles  had been embiggened so much that even my fairly dull sense of safety was tingled a little when driving the Sprite.

Living the dream on a low budget.

Agreed on Nissan. I really wanted a 240sx.

It’s okay to get a little soft. Especially once you can afford it. Treat yourself.

I love the Sprite, but I get not wanting to go toe to toe with all the SUVs.

I would be driving along in the Sprite and “what is that huge car towering over me?” Oh, that is a Corolla.

Last generation S14 was on the short list when I got the Maxima, I think the styling is classic one of the last small, relatively cheap RWD coupes.

Ha!

My mom almost got a 240  but went for the RX-7 instead.

Old Plymouth Rock, I camped there in those years. Nothing like the sound of thunder at 5 :00 am in the morning to rouse you from your sleep.....

Ps, does this look familiar? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-triumph-tr4-12/

Yes, Plymouth Rock, I forgot the name until you mentioned it. Right across from the track and you could indeed enjoy the sound of racing cars at dawn.

Mine was a couple years newer than the BAT car, but yeah, that is it essentially, it is pretty high up on cars I miss list.
